Password Reset process on Mac os X I found a Mac os X machine the other day that would not start up from a dvd I found this on how to re set the admin password I did some additional research and found the following Re start the machine in single user mode (hold down apple and the "s" key on start up) once at the command promt enter the following mount -uw / rm /var/db/.AppleSetupDone shutdown -h now After rebooting you now have a brand new administrator account - some people have had some issues with this but I tried this on 2 * 10.4 machines and it worked ok.
