Just so you know! Yes the site went down... About Friday last week bad disk mojo and 2 drives gone south .... Not good as the second drive also had my automated back up on it (I think it is time I invested in another power surge protector!) So not only do I lose most of my site I have to re build the machine from scratch and re do all the configuration! This was interesting as the last time I did this was 6-7 months ago and I had time to work on it carefully. Although I did have some notes on the process they are never good enough when you are in a time of stress (I should have been studying) and there is always 1 or 2 things that you forget to note down. Added to this I only had older versions of the site backed up that I could restore from.... It is all a bit sad, but as they say back up back up and back up again. Also a big thanks to purana from mactalk.com.au who let me pick his brain over some post fix issues I was having trouble with. Now ... off to design and implement the NEW backup plan !
