All sorts of things

It's been a full on month or so and I haven't written anything for a while (a common blog lament you may think!) ....

Anyway one of the things I have been indulging in is parallels for Mac it allows me to run a whole heap of other operating systems upon my new Intel based Macbook Pro
(did I tell you I had up graded my Mac? That's one of those other things that's been happening). Anyway I have been looking at ubuntu (Desktop and server and FreeBsd products like FreeNas )

It's so good to be able to play about with os's and not need to deal with a whole separate machine.

My only gripe (and that is a small one and it has more to do with nix installs than parallels) is native 1440 by 900 resolution. It seems to be something that not many os implement and it would be nice to run at full screen some times. But this will be patched I'm sure in time.

But try parallels (you can down load a 30 day demo) and it seriously rocks!

As they say a picture paints a thousand words!

mac os X Freenass Ubuntu accessing the freenass interface via Firefox all running within mac osX .... Woh!
